About Us
Water for Humans will engage an entire watershed at a time to deploy in home, point-of-use, water purification systems with long-term leases. We are also developing a village-level water treatment system that may be more appropriate in some situations. Both of these systems will improve health and reduce disease at a fraction of the cost of bottled drinking water (in Mexico). The systems efficiently kill or remove harmful parasites, bacteria and chemicals in local water sources. We will oversee water testing, facilitate certifying local entrepreneurs in water testing and in filtration system installation, use, and maintenance. Eventually, the in-home leasing program will provide an avenue for Water for Humans to become self-funded and provide the capital to implement our long-term mission. Our longer-term mission is to engage communities in the restoration and preservation of both their regional watershed and water delivery infrastructures, to ultimately reduce the requirements for point-of-use water purification systems. Included with this effort will be the deployment of composting latrines and living machine style sewage treatment technologies to further facilitate public health and watershed improvements. Because this will require significantly more community effort, coordination, expense and time to implement, we are now focusing our near-term efforts on providing point-of-use clean water solutions while building the required community organizations to realize our longer-term mission. |
